WHAT I SEE IN LITERATURE

What I saw in my head was some guy who was just living a weird dream but at the same time explaining his life. In the end I guess you kind of figure out the idea in some type of way but I personally was left a bit confused. Overall, pretty good poem.

Gatsby essay

Prompt #2 “ Is Gatsby’s desire for success—however we define it—evidence of the American dream, obsession, a personal sense of honor, or something else? Does Gatsby symbolize our culture and even our own desires, or is he an outlier?“ Gatsby Essay         Gatsby was living a dream. The desire to not only be rich but also have Daisy in his life was evidence of both the American dream and obsession. Although, others would argue that gatsby was not living a happy life but only doing it to make himself look better. With that being said Gatby was pursuing and achieved the American dream throughout his life.            The desire of living the American dream was always in gatbys mind ever since he was a young 17 year old. WILD WEDNESDAY

So today during class I did used my time to research and look into colleges. I found out that sometimes information on college pages are just too overwhelming and difficult to digest because too much is being shown to us at once. Also the pages are good st times if you’re looking for straight facts , although they might be overwhelming they’re facts.

During class (Gatsby)

Tom and Daisy both only care about themselves, arguably protecting each other.

Socratic Seminar

Notes   During the seminar I wrote down that Paul Simon got all the credits for the songs he had written. Also there could be a chance that Paul went to Africa for the culture and to learn. Lastly Paul wasn’t trying to let his music die ,trying to keep the music relevant.

What I learned this semester

This semester I’ve learned quite a bit during this first half of the course. I’ve learned how to make, create, and control my own blog. I also learned how to have self confidence. Originally coming into this class I expected the normal, textbooks and weekely vocabulary. When into here you really changed my perspective on English. It wasn’t really a subject I enjoyed but now that we’re on blogs and doing a lot on our phones and tablets I’m really starting to enjoy it. I also learned about people I didn’t even knew existed who were some of the most recognized poets and writers of our time. One of the most important things that I learned in this course is that we can learn and discover more without using any textbooks and just using technology!!!
